WHAT IS BIFROST & WHO FOUNDED IT?
Bifrost is Elfwood's first collaborative art and writing club, founded by Paula Fletcher!
A few words from Paula...
"A while back I was asked by Hillary Deline if I would like to participate in a collaborated art/writing project, where several artists/writers produced an artwork/writing corresponding to a common theme. The theme was to be the Zodiac.
I was totally excited and enthusiastic about the whole experience, and thought how great it would be to belong to some kind of club, where you could participate in a new project every month or two!
And so Bifrost was born...

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE NAME BIFROST?
The name Bifrost was taken from Norse Mythology, Bifrost being the sparkling rainbow bridge that connects Aesgard (land of the gods) and Midgard (land of mortals).
You can draw into this any symbolism that you wish! In the end, Bifrost is about "building a bridge" between fantasy artists and writers, from all over the world, in a creative and friendly atmosphere!

WHO CAN JOIN BIFROST?
Any artist or writer who has an Elfwood Gallery or Library page! Bifrost welcomes artists and writers of all skill levels and mediums: drawing, painting, digital, sculpture, photo-manip, short stories, poetry and more!

WHY DOES BIFROST HAVE A WEBSITE, FORUM & YAHOO!GROUP?
Our Website... Is home to our Project Archives and provides visitors with information about our group.
Our Yahoo!Group... Is where members submit ideas for our projects, vote in group polls, share files or photos and store project information. It's also used for Bifrost Admin to send special announcements to our group and for members to post questions or chat via email.
Our Forum... Is a great place to chat and make new "Friends-in-Art". Our members discuss art and writing techniques, books, movies, tv shows, video games, RPGs, politics, social issues and more. It's a friendly atmosphere, where members treat each other with courtesy and respect (as they do in all areas of our group...which is one of the things that makes Bifrost such a great community).

WHAT ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE IN BIFROST?
About every other month. We decide on a new project by suggesting ideas, then the ideas are collated into a poll. Then all active members get to cast a vote for the project idea of their choice. Then, the votes are counted and the winning project idea is announced.
Members have two months to produce an artwork/writing, that corresponds to the project theme, if they wish to participate in the current project. At the end of the two month time limit, the submitted artworks/writings are combined in an Elfwood tour and a tour located in our Project Archive. The artist/writer whose idea was chosen for the project will be featured in the tours and on our homepage!
From time to time, we have art/writing competitions and there's always plenty of discussion, debate, critiquing, chat, joking and fun in our Forum and Yahoo!Group.

HOW DO I JOIN BIFROST?
That's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!
1 - You must maintain an Elfwood Gallery or Library page. Even if you only use it, to display the work you do for our projects.
2 - You must become a member of our Yahoo!Group.
3 - You should join our Forum, to enjoy the full benefits of being a part of our group.
Then... you'll be a member of Bifrost!
